02 Make cocaine legal!

Make cocaine legal!

Ah the salacious title!

Something so controversial that it’s bound to catch your eye. But to dodge the sin of click baiting my readers (if they even exist lol), I have to make good on the title I claim. Hence, the article.

Capitalism.

Huh? Capitalism? What does it have to do with snorting crack?

In short, everything.

Now I am no genius (if it wasn’t obvious by the way I write) but I do have a vague idea about what capitalism means… I think. So, for me, capitalism basically means if you have something people want, you can sell those people what they want and become VERY rich doing it.

So, if you have a bunch of toilet paper, and people really want to wipe their asses. You can sell that paper and make a bunch of paper doing it (you see what I did there? ;  )

That is capitalism at its core.

And it’s an amazing thing! I mean, it’s how most of the world works. It governs every little detail of our lives; for instance, what toothpaste you use. Seriously, is it Pepsodent?

Form toothpaste to your health insurance, everything runs on a capitalistic system. People want health insurance? A bunch of companies compete to provide you with it. People want computers? A group of very smart people build one for you. You want some ice-cream? There are endless options to choose from. Heck these days you don’t even have to go outside your house to get stuff, stuff comes to your door.

It’s all about what people want and how we can sell it to them.

But what if I want some cocaine?

Ah… for that you go to jail. I mean WTF? If we are to call ourselves a true capitalistic society where people’s needs and wants are fulfilled (and presumably they are happy) then we have to look at every product through the same lens, don’t we? It’s like we are discriminating against a product in favor of something else. That’s not capitalism! That’s bullshit. In a true capitalist world, Cocaine would be sold in supermarkets like Snickers.

If people want cocaine, they should have the choice to have it.

If we really think about it, a lot of people do want to do coke. I mean, it’s not the act of doing coke that really matters but the reasons for doing it. People want to get that buzz. People want to alter their state of minds. People want to get fucked up once in a while. That’s human nature, for some weird fucking reason.

Take alcohol for example. It’s like coke. It gives you a buzz, and completely alters your state of mind. And people fucking love it! No matter how hard the government tries to control it, people have, and forever will go crazy over alcohol. They can’t seem to get enough of this stuff. Consequently, despite the seemingly never-ending bad publicity, alcohol producers have never gone out of business. Ain’t that crazy? If you look at it from a capitalistic perspective, alcohol makers are the best of the best! Every business from private hospitals to shoe manufacturers should try to be like them. They are the true role models!

And if we legalize cocaine, it would do even better than alcohol. It would probably be the most profitable business in the history of business lol. It would sell like hot cakes; people would go crazy over it. Again, form a capitalistic perspective, think about how much would it add to the economy, how many people would get good paying jobs selling crack, and most importantly, how many people would get what they WANT. Surely the capitalistic gods would be happy about it.

But NOPE! Our dumb society still thinks it’s an evil drug. People say that it corrupts and ruins lives. But wait a fucking second, doesn’t alcohol do the same? Same with cigarettes, it gives you cancer lol. So is the case with videogames, I can easily waste my whole life doing nothing but playing some dumb game (believe me, I’ve tried it). Heck, chocolate cakes and Pepsi can easily kill you with diabetes. People literally throw their lives away in casinos. But these are not illegal, are they?

So, why is cocaine (or any other drug) the voodoo doll in all of this?

The drug on war is just stupid. It didn’t work, and it never will because you can’t stop people from doing what they truly want.

Form alcohol to video games, the society relies on the individual’s conscience to make the right decision. The government is like “Hey, if you are above 18 and happen to try alcohol once at that party, and 5 years later you are now a homeless alcoholic with chronic liver disease, then too bad! It’s on you”. The government literally doesn’t take any responsibly if you fuck up your life because of alcohol. Or video games. Or if you happen to die because of too much Pepsi lol. They say it’s your decision and you have to deal with the consequences.

And you know what? I am totally cool with it. At least they are keeping it real.

So, in my opinion, the same should be the case with cocaine. If people, VOLUNTARILY, decide to do coke then they should have the option to do it with no stigma attached to it, just as people play video games or casually drink alcohol at parties.

All this cookie cutter bullshit makes no sense. If you are really serious about capitalism and individual’s freedom, either let people do coke, or cut off everything (from gambling to video games). Don’t do this half ass thing where somethings are legal and some are not, for no logical reason.

Either way, keep it 100. Don’t be a bitch about it.

So, with that, excuse me, it’s time for my afternoon hit… snifffffffffff….. wooo! It’s a hell of a drug!

Cheers!
